The quality of HD CCTV images is now so good that the BBC use our CCTV cameras for specialised recording projects.
In the summer we were contacted by a major film company to supply HD CCTV video equipment for a special filming project in a zoo, we were initially asked to specify HD-SDI 1080p Cameras, with Infra Red Night Vision, with a multi camera recorder capable of recording in full 1080P HD in real time with the ability to export the recording files for editing after the event.
We discussed the various HD-SDI options with the client but because of the size of the site and the required amount of cabling, cameras and recording control that was required we advised that a 1080P HD-IP CCTV system would be a better solution whilst keeping the project within budget. HD-IP CCTV is perfect for Multi-Site Installations of CCTV video equipment because of its modular nature.
The project was to record night time images of the animals under infra red, we proposed a Full HD- IP 1080P solution using Xvisions XP range of IP cameras, several network video recorders al working in conjunction with the supplied multi camera XCMS software for remote monitoring in the control room.
The client was delighted with the pictures obtained and spoke to use after recording to thank us for our help and advice before, during and after the installation.
The results were broadcast on BBC4 in Animals Through the Night: Sleepover at the Zoo
